Where do you turn? 1 John 2:3-10

The past two weeks in our area have been emotional. We have had the tragedy of the women slain in the retail store in Tinley Park and this past Thursday the shootings at NIU. When we see tragedies in our world we often wonder is any place safe? The harsh fact is that in a fallen world, we will continually experience senseless violence and tragedy. Even churches fall prey to such calamity.
Where do you turn? While we may not be able to guarantee physical safety, God has designed a place where we should each experience the reality of emotional, spiritual and relational safety. That is the church. The church is where we should be able to come and feel loved and accepted even when we might be unlovely and unacceptable. That is what real love is. We are to be the ones who express real love to one another.
